  • ASCO is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to work as an Addictions and Mental Health Counsellor 2 for a new program focused on Black Mental Health and Addiction support for families, children and youth. 
  • The Addictions and Mental Health Counsellor 2, provides direct service to an assigned caseload of clients presenting with addictions and/or mental health concerns and their families in accordance with the agency’s guidelines and reporting to the Assigned Supervisors.
  • This position will focus on initiatives to support culturally sensitive care for Black families, youth, and children.
  • This opportunity is aimed at reducing health inequities in line with Ontario Health’s “A Black Health Plan for Ontario.” 
  • The Addictions and Mental Health Counsellor 2 position will offer services in York Region and North Durham, as determined by the agency, and will work closely with the agency’s partners, as requested, to assist the agency in achieving the goals set out by the agency, and its funders.
  • This position provides services in various capacities to ensure we meet the needs of clients where they are located.
  • This is a Permanent Full-time position for 35 hours per week, with a minimum of two evenings per week. Weekend work is also expected (i.e. some Saturdays). A minimum of 2 shifts per week in person is required.

  • Job Posting 2025.16FT 
  • ASCO is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and energetic individual to work as a Group Facilitator 1 and Info/Referral/Intake 1.  
  • The incumbent will work three days per week as a Group Facilitator 1 and two days per week as an Info/Referral/Intake 1.
  • As Group Facilitator 1, you will facilitate groups such as educational/treatment groups and in our Back on Track (BOT) program to assist persons who have been convicted of impaired driving or registered a blood alcohol level in the ‘warn range’.  
  • As an Info/Referral/Intake 1, you will provide intake/information/referral to potential clients and assessment services to agency clients.
  • This position will also provide an agency orientation to clients seeking service within the agency.
  • This position provides services in various capacities to ensure the organization meets the needs of clients where they are located.
  • This position will be based in the Aurora office location, reporting to the Assigned Supervisor. 
  • This is a full-time permanent position for 35 hours per week, with a minimum of two evenings per week, weekend work is also expected (i.e., some Saturdays).

  • Job Posting 2025.17FT 
  • ASCO is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual for the position of Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) supporting the Addictions Withdrawal Management Services program and other teams, programs and services as needed.
  • The RPN will conduct client assessments and implement treatment plans according to the needs and preferences of each client.
  • The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will co-ordinate nursing services that individuals require for substance use disorders and will focus on Community Clinics and/or RAAM and may be responsible for providing coverage in other addictions medicine programming within ASCO.
  • The RPN will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team which includes medical (physicians/nurse practitioners, nurses) and non-medical staff (Addictions Counsellors/Case Managers/Peer Support Workers, Information/ Referral/Intake, Admin), and will work in a harm reduction context. Care may be provided with or without the aid of drug therapy and/or other medical interventions.
  • Additional support such as discharge planning and early recovery education is provided.
  • This position provides services in various capacities to ensure we meet the needs of clients where they are located. 
  • Addictions Withdrawal Management provides assistance with voluntary withdrawal from alcohol and/or other substances for clients who are under the influence of these substances and/or in withdrawal or otherwise in crisis directly related to these substances.
  • Addictions Withdrawal Management provides comprehensive, inter-professional, holistic outpatient addictions care for clients and their families affected by substance use, generally alcohol and opioid use disorders.
  • With the evolving nature of Ontario’s health system through the establishment of Ontario Health and Ontario Health Teams, this position will be involved in collaborating with other organizations to ensure a seamless transition of services for people being served. 
  • The position to be filled is 1 Permanent Full-time position, for 35 hours per week, with a minimum of two evenings per week. Weekend work is also expected (i.e. some Saturdays).

The Toronto Community Crisis Services (TCCS) program provides support to people experiencing a mental health and/or addiction crisis in northwest Toronto. This program is part of a City of Toronto police reform initiative that is evaluating the effectiveness and impact of non-police-led responses to people experiencing non-emergency crises.  This program aims to reduce the harms experienced by people who have mental health and addictions challenges as well as Black, Indigenous, racialized, LGBTQ2+ and other marginalized individuals.
